A departure from the optimistic tone that defined their earlier work, This Will Also Change confronts a range of sobering themes and emotions often only accessible through trauma. An unexpected death. Lost faith in a self-destructing loved one. The claustrophobic paranoia of always being trapped exactly where you are. A checklist of uncomfortably human happenings nobody really wants to think about... but once immersed in, a warm melancholy reminder that nobody is alone through the storms and hurricanes of sentient existence.

The album was built off of live takes in Pennsylvania at the end of 2017 and finished in Washington two years later. Everything was recorded at home. From a production standpoint, Daniel wanted the songs to ebb and flow like water. Drones melt in and out of a soupy landscape of guitars. On one track, a field recording from inside a submarine many miles below the ocean surface sells the effect better than any reverb pedal could. This is a collection of songs showcasing the band at their musical prime, unapologetically affected by the hardship of existing in this world yet somehow still at peace with it all.
